I needed some fresh ideas for my daughters sixteenth birthday party. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So, I figured I’d see what they have. I couldn’t believe all the nice table accessories and party favors that were available. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.
Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. Refreshments, pizza and hot dogs were also part of the package, and didn’t cost very much at all. At home I had everything set up for the party to continue. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.
The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. I found pink photo albums for the girls and gave each of them a disposable camera for party pictures. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.
I also bought each of them little cosmetic bags with their initials on the front. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. Each of the girls also received a very decorative favor box filled with candies. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen idea and watch her open her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. After they got tired of dancing to their favorite tunes, they decided to give make overs and manicures to each other. From all the noise and laughing you knew they were having the time of their lives.
After they tired themselves out, they decided to put on a movie and grab the popcorn. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. I thought that was so sweet of them to ask. They actually made it through the first two movies before they started nodded off, one by one. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.
When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. I was very impressed with their thoughtfulness in helping me out. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the sweet 16 favors I got them. It’s really neat being considered a cool mom.
